    Carl Fastabend, MD, FACC, FSCAI

    Carl Fastabend, MD earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, where he also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiology. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, he has practiced Interventional Cardiology in Southwest Louisiana for nearly 40 years.

    He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, and is a member of the American College of Phlebology and Lymphatic Medicine. He has also earned special recognition in ultrasound through a Registered Vascular Physician Interpretation Certification, and has been awarded certification from the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.

    In 2011, Dr. Fastabend established the Vein Center of Southwest Louisiana and began a comprehensive practice in venous disease, with the goal of providing state-of-the-art care. He has participated in important clinical research projects and has been an expert speaker at major venous symposia.

    Dr. Fastabend is focused on all aspects of venous disease, and is recognized for expertise in the area of stenting large veins in the body for venous compression or obstruction. He hosts many vein specialists who travel to Lake Charles to observe his venous stent procedures first-hand, and is a regular speaker at training sessions around the country for physicians interested in learning about vein disease and modern treatment modalities.
